With the annual CEDIA conference only a few weeks away, a new CEO will be at the helm for CEDIA starting October 1st before the conference begins on October 13th-17th. Former Crestron Director of Marketing Vincent Bruno was chosen to lead CEDIA into the custom electronics future. More than 400 candidates were vetted, but Vincent Bruno’s 30 plus years of custom electronics experience and his vision for CEDIA’s growth were too hard to pass up. Being the creative leader at Crestron, the leading home automation devices supplier in the world, added to Vin’s attractiveness as a candidate.
Bruno says the custom channel is in his blood.
“Crestron was only my third real job,” he says, “so CEDIA is only my fourth in 31 years. In all those years I’ve been serving this industry. I have never been in a job that hasn’t been in the channel.”
Although the details of Vincent Bruno’s vision for CEDIA have not been fully revealed, there are several key points that he shared with CePro that he would like to explore moving forward.
- More engagement with a larger community that does not necessarily fit into CEDIA’s existing membership categories (manufacturers, dealers, reps, distributors).
- An effort to “make CEDIA the place where homeowners come to find people to install and integrate.”
- Collaboration with manufacturers to ensure CEDIA personnel and stakeholders understand and stay abreast of technological developments.
Working with Crestron and Vincent Bruno for many years, AHT Global is thrilled with CEDIA’s latest hire. We are excited to see where Mr. Bruno leads CEDIA and the the ever-expanding custom electronics industry.
