The world’s largest AV systems integration show came to a close last week in Amsterdam, and AHT was there to soak in all of the new technologies and support several of our industry partners.
ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) is a cornerstone event for the pro and custom install AV world – it’s the annual launchpad for some of the most cutting-edge AV products and technologies designed for the (serious) home theater, workplace or retail space.
Crestron had one of the largest presence at ISE – demonstrating countless AV products to more than 80,000 visitors. Below is a video recap.
Crestron New Product Announcements
Crestron’s new FlipTops conceal connections in stunning new industrial designs, blending machined metal textures in both black and alloy finishes. When a meeting requires AV, touching a single button on the FlipTop activates the door, which opens and tucks away, revealing everything necessary to power, rapidly charge and connect devices such as a laptop or tablet, and start presenting. A comprehensive line of accessories ranging from retractors to international power modules accompanies the new models.
Available in highly configurable single-gang models that combine up to four across, the new line offers designer aesthetics, superior button feels four different button styles, programmable multi-color backlighting, interchangeable custom top and bottom trim pieces, and Cresnet® wired communications. Crestron keypads deliver an advanced custom control solution as part of a complete Crestron smart home. Crestron is demonstrating the Horizon line of keypads in Hall-2, Stand 2-C20 at ISE 2018, 6 – 9 February 2018.
“These stunningly beautiful keypads provide Crestron residential dealers, as well as interior designers and architects, with incredible flexibility in both control and design,” said Michael Short, Global Residential Marketing Manager at Crestron. “Inviting to the touch and appealing to the eye, Horizon keypads deliver a premier user experience combined with bespoke design for homeowners.”
Samsung’s ‘The Wall Professional’
At the center of Samsung’s event at CES 2018 was a massive modular MicroLED panel, which can display multiple individually controlled screens of any size. The version at ISE is a slight variation on its consumer counterpart, featuring Samsung’s MagicInfo content management platform for creating and managing content across one or several Walls. Read more about Samsung’s “The Wall” here from a previous AHT blog post.
LG’s transparent OLED
The centerpiece of LG’s ISE booth was its 55-inch Transparent OLED signage, a state-of-the-art product that will have visitors marveling at the razor-thin bezels and elegant form factor. But the most amazing aspect of this advanced product is its transparent OLED display. This unique technology is especially impressive in retail environments and art galleries where products can be placed behind video or special effects displayed on the Transparent OLED signage.
“World’s first” 8K DLP laser projector
2018 has decided it’s the year 8K makes a splash (if nothing else). All eyes were on the resolution at CES 2018 as Samsung, Sony, Sharp and LG showcased 8K TVs – so it was only a matter of time before an 8K projector arrived.
This year, Digital Projection is celebrating ten years at ISE by debuting its flagship INSIGHT Dual Laser 8K, which projects a 7680 X 4320 resolution of 33 million pixels with 25,000 lumens of brightness.
